ImpleMentor Final Conference

The Final Conference for the ImpleMentor Project took place on Friday October 2nd at the Dragon Hotel, Swansea.

It was attended by over 60 people from 9 European Countries. Nick Bennett, Principal of Gorseinon College made the opening speech and the keynote speaker was Cliff Warwick from the Welsh Assembly Government. Presentations and Round Tables were given by partners to give the audience an opportunity to find out in more detail what each partner had done in the project.

Mentoring level 3 pilot at Gorseinon College

The pilot took place between 23rd of March and the 1st of May 2009. The programme Instructor was Michelle Brinkworth (Centre). Michelle has wide experience of setting up and delivering mentoring programmes to a wide range of audiences. She has been involved in projects such as Leonardo, Me myself and I, PIP and others. She also plays a pivotal role in the annually run student mentoring programme at Gorseinon College. The photograph shows some of the participants (Karen Hope, Hannah Morgan, Gillian Wilshere and Heather Haigh) who took part in the programme. The pilot was a great success with all participants achieving the OCN Wales level 3 qualification. It is envisaged that participants will now train other staff across the College.
