To develop an electronic mentoring support programme to support people from disadvantaged target groups in vocational training and employment, building on the outcomes of the current Euromentor and MMI project.
The objectives of NetMentor are:
- To research the role of electronic mentoring programmes and identify the benefits of their use with disadvantaged groups on the process of integration into vocational training, employment situations and in maintaining motivation. Also to pilot the value for excluded groups waiting for a placement and training job.
- To research into the generic elements that are most likely to cause lack of motivation for the basis of electronic support for the targets groups.
- To develop electronic programmes for mentoring support in different contexts including providing support at a distance with the possibility to communicate using data transmission, image and voice.
- To pilot the use of electronic mentoring programmes with disadvantaged target groups to support the personal development and motivation of new entrants to vocational training and the labour market– e.g. excluded groups waiting for a job placement or training.
- To deliver the Introduction of Mentoring Skills course using distance e-mentoring and e-mentoring support.
- To allow disadvantaged persons who have finished vocational training and/or are unemployed to maintain contact with the institutions through e-mentoring to continue training their skills in order to find a suitable and appropriate occupation/job and keeping the motivation to enrol in a future placement.
