Mentoring Activities Club

During the school holidays, promoting Independence held an activities club for trained peer mentors and young people in the Caerphilly Borough with learning disabilities.

24 Hour Sleepover

On the 25th October 2008 a group from Trinity Fields School stayed at the Rickyard Bunkhouse in Monmouth on a 24 hour mentoring sleepover.

Peer Educator Training Course

The first Peer Educator Training Course took place in Antalya, Turkey from November 3rd – 8th 2008.

22 young people from Wales, Romania, Turkey, Belgium and Portugal took part in the programme.

All the young people showed real commitment and enthusiasm for the course and all achieved certificates of achievement at the end.
